So Many New Projects
It’s springtime here at Apricot Tree Press, and that means our studio is buzzing — not just from the bees pollinating the blooms on the apricot tree outside the back door, but with the occasional “oops!” and “oh no!” as well. With the launch of our new Folk Art Greeting Cards and Bookmarks, I’ve been as busy as a bee in a blooming garden. And yes, that means both making beautiful things and making beautiful mistakes!
Who knew paper could fly? I certainly didn’t—until I dropped an entire stack of freshly printed cards faster than you can say “52-card pickup.” Realized it didn’t matter because, turns out I made the perfect cut on a stack of mini cards on the wrong line, and ruined an entire batch. And let’s not even talk about the time I laminated the protector pocket instead of the card, Twice. Or was it three times? (Who’s counting?) Every day is an adventure, and trust me, the blade on my guillotine is sharp, but thanks to ADHD my attention span sometimes isn’t!
But here’s the secret: every misstep is just part of the dance. The studio is alive with the sound of slicing paper, the rhythmic hum of the printer, and yes, the occasional clatter of a deck of cards descending in unexpected flight. But from the chaos comes the creation—gorgeous greeting cards and bookmarks that I can’t wait to share with you.
As we gear up for our first craft fair, I’m reminded why I love this job. It’s not just about creating things that are beautiful (though that’s a big part of it); it’s also about the joy and laughter that comes from those oh-so-human hiccups along the way.
If you’re curious about what comes next—both masterpieces and mishaps—I’d love for you to join our journey. Sign up for our mailing list to get updates on all our new products, craft fair adventures, and yes, even the bloopers that make every day interesting.
